Web Browser Vulnerability and security measures to protect users

October 16, 2014

A new vulnerability in how web browsers and servers encrypt traffic and activity has been discovered, for which we offer a solution.

To minimise this threat and protect data for our users, IT Services will shortly implement the recommended upgrade to our security systems and servers. The upgrade process will not cause disruption during normal working hours, and the long term impact will simply be that users will no longer be able use very old browsers, like IE6 or previous versions, to access our web services. Most users will not be affected by this, but if you are, please let us know via IT Support Services.
