August 9, 2016Legacy logins are being removed from the eduroam WiFi service.
The University will shortly stop supporting the use of @glam.ac.uk and @newport.ac.uk to authenticate onto eduroam. This is part of the requirement to remove legacy naming schemes of both the University of Glamorgan and University of Wales, Newport.
All students will be required to log on to eduroam using a username of the form studentID@southwales.ac.uk, where 'studentID' is your 8-digit student enrolment number that can be found on your Student ID Card.
A short period of grace will be provided, when the old usernames will still work, but after that incorrectly configured devices will cease to be able to connect to the eduroam service.
For more information about eduroam see IT Services' eduroam Wireless Guides.
